Title of Song: 错过 Composer: Jerron Lee Lyricist: Jerron Lee Vocals: Jerron Lee Piano: Gaius Yeong Date Written: Nov 2008
Imagine the person that u like is leaving you. Imagine she is leaving this country to return back to her homeland. Imagine she still could not accept you. How would you feel? This song tells of a story of a guy who is in love with a girl but is unable to keep her by his side.
This is probably the most difficult song I have ever written coz it is very hard to sing. It took me a lot of takes to come up with a decent recording. Enjoy!
Title of Song: Thank You (A Song for Dad) Composer: Jerron Lee Lyricist: Jerron Lee Vocals: Jerron Lee Piano: Gaius Yeong Date Written: May 2008
It’s tough being parents. They take great pain to take care of us. This song is written to my father. Many thanks to Gaius for again playing the piano for me.
Title of Song: Ting Ting, I’m Sorry Composer: Jerron Lee Lyricist: Jerron Lee Vocals: Jerron Lee Piano: Gaius Yeong Date Written: June 2008
There are some people who like to cry especially girls. Ting Ting is one of them. Of course she does not cry for no reason. This song is another apologetic song. Not that I am always going around hurting girls by my remarks or actions. Many thanks to Gaius for playing the piano for me.
Title of Song: The Girl who Stole My Soul Composer: Jerron Lee Lyricist: Muhd Firdaus Vocals: Jerron Lee Date Written: April 2008
This is a song composed by me and written by Firdaus.
The song is talking about a guy sitting by the river thinking of a girl he likes. This girl used to be his gf but not anymore. The girl is now with someone else . This guy is recalling all the wonderful moments with this girl but realizes it is all nothing in reality now. He is sad. His heart is sad.
The Girl Who Stole My Soul
[Verse]
As I sat by the river
My tears began to roll
I still think about her
The girl who stole my soul
We used to sit by this river
My love within my arms
Now I’m sad and lonely
Cos she.. has left me..
[Chorus]
The good times we shared
The love that we had
A past memory
A lost symphony
The kiss in the rain
The joy and the pain
I’m thinking of her
I wish she was here
But she’s gone away..
[Bridge]
Thinking of her
And the love that we had
Makes me sorry..
I still love her
Lost in my thoughts
I pray that she is happy
And as for me
I’ll sing this melody
[Repeat Chorus]
[Outro Repeat]
I’m thinking of her
I wish she was here
But she’s gone away..
It’s about a month away…….Yes the Mini Concert. Well in case you guys don’t know, the Mini Concert is organised by the Songcraft Songwriting Circle which I joined in April.
I will be presenting 3 songs :
1) Thank You, 2) Dear Friend, 3) The Bright Morning Star
The song ‘Thank You’ is actually a testimonial of mine. I choose to present this song because I feel that it is a very nice song. Though it does mention God, it is actually not a Christian song. Not really lor. However this song is not easy to play. Quite a challenge for me.
‘Dear Friend’ is a song that talks about a guy’s desire to know his friend better. Originally the song is called ‘Dear Sharen’. This song is written to/for a friend I knew not too long ago. This is not a love song I must reiterate. It’s a song with a catchy tune. I hope the audience will like it.
The third song which I am going to present is ‘The Bright Morning Star’. I am not saying too much about this song. The synopsis can be found in my blog. I want to present this song because I want the audience to understand the other side of me & that is I can write instrumentals too.
So it is practising for me this next one month I guess- vocals & playing techniques. I have been criticised heavily for the past few months on my singing which actually affected me a bit. I have always thought that I sing well but I guess I am wrong. Used to be in the choir which I thought is a credential for me but I guess I am wrong again. The lack of practise on my vocals for the past 1 year has certainly not worked well for me. Also according to Frederick, I don’t seem to pronounce my words well when singing which I agree. I hope that I will be able to sing better on the actual day.
The preparation for the mini-concert is currently on-going. I have been looking for cheap rental of PA systems quite desperately coz our mini-concert is in December & because it is held during the festive period, the rental of such PA systems is marked up. Jeremy and I are looking into this. As for the concert booklet, which contains the lyrics of our song and will be given to the audience on the actual day, I am getting the help of Lihong to design it for me. Can’t wait to see the final product.
Title of Song: Thank You Composer: Jerron Lee Lyricist: Jerron Lee Vocals: Jerron Lee Date Written: Oct 2007
This song is talking about how a guy fell in his journey in life & how he nearly lost God. But God is gracious & this guy has been uplifted. This song is originally composed on a keyboard. The version that you are about to hear is the guitar version. The piano version is going to be performed at the next songcraft session & year-end songcraft mini-concert (with improvisation). Enjoy this version!

Thank You
I was once a happy boy
back in my young days
You were once a trustful God
back in my young days too
But one year, I fell
I lost everything
and to you, I gave up hope
thinking you have left me alone
But God you took my hands & said
“there is nothing to fear”
for you’re with me
I knew then that you are for real
And You have opened up my eyes
and now I can fly high
like the eagles
and I thank You for your love on me
Title of Song: Where is She? Composer: Jerron Lee Lyricist: Jerron Lee Vocals: Jerron Lee Date Written: July 2006
This song is about a guy who likes a girl but because this girl is not by his side, he is crying to God “where is she, where is she?”. “Where is she” doesn’t mean that the girl is nowhere to be found, it just means that the girl is somewhere else rather than by the guy’s side.
The start is a bit boring which represents this guy’s loneliness (loneliness equals boredom in this case). Why the guy wants to see the girl- because he likes her that’s why. Another thing to observe is the cries at the end: it is supposed to imitate the cries of a baby wolf crying for his mother- this represents a longing for something & in this case it is a longing for somebody.
* I’ve been wanting (her)
I’ve been waiting (for her)
I’ve been thirsting (for her)
I’ve been praying (for her)
repeat *
My Lord I believe in you
but till now how come she’s not here with me
My God won’t you let me see
where is she
how come she’s so far from me
**I want to see her
I want to feel her
Lord tell me please
where else can she be
I want to love her
I want to hold her
Lord tell me please
where else can she be
Ooh my God
where is she
Ooh my God
I’ve seen her in all my dreams
Ooh my God
tell me what is wrong with me (coz I am going bogus over her)
Ooh my God
where o where is she
Title of Song: A Song for God Composer: Jerron Lee Lyricist: Jerron Lee Vocals: Jerron Lee Date Written: Nov 2006
This is a simple song written to God. I don’t know about what you guys think but I feel like a child when I was singing & recording this song. Well the lyrics is a bit questionable though. But hey, I don’t write many christian songs so I need more encouragement rather than criticism ok?
